Drop of Rain

There she is. Lonely among millions like her. Wondering when - if - her time will finally come. Blown away by a ferocious wind that keeps her travelling over mountains and plains. Clouds could come and then go. Every chilly night and every warming day. There she stays.

One day, out the blue of the sky, that's when everything seems to melt right in front of her drowning eyes. The surroundings get blurry, as if staring through a dirty looking glass. Nothing looks quite the same, but still it is. Not changing, not moving. Still, floating.

The wind covers the sound of a million waves, while a blast crashes the sky. The echo reverberates in the air. She's confused; she's overwhelmed; she's scared.

Suddenly she loses the grasp that kept her steady in her world of air and then she falls.

Scared no more. Confusion has left. Remains the overwhelming excitement which moves her forward, drags her down, deep. A fall toward the ground that's the only hint of life that she will ever have. Lost in a storm of light and dark, sound and silence - all and nothing.

And still she wonders.

Unknown is the place where her fall will come to an end. Unknown is what will happen when she'll finally reach the ground. Unknown is if she'll even ever reach it, or if she'll go back floating, lingering, waiting for another burst of life - for another fall.

Still, there she falls.

------------------------------------------------------

Nothing we are, apart from small drops of rain falling fast towards the ground, enjoying the excitement of the fall, eager to know where our journey we'll finally end.
